How to Set Up a Custom Domain for Your Short Links

Using your own domain for short links is one of the most powerful ways to build trust and brand recognition. Instead of goose.re/abc123, your links can read go.yourbrand.com/launch.

Why Use a Custom Domain?

  • Brand Trust: Recipients are more likely to click links from a recognisable domain.
  • Consistency: Keep all marketing links under a single brand identity.
  • Analytics Ownership: All click data flows back to your Goose.re dashboard.

Step 1: Add the Domain

Navigate to Domains in your dashboard sidebar, then click Add Domain. Enter your subdomain (e.g., go.yourbrand.com) and save.

Step 2: Configure Your DNS

In your DNS provider (Cloudflare, Namecheap, etc.), add a CNAME record pointing your subdomain to cname.goose.re. DNS propagation typically takes 1–24 hours.

Step 3: Verify & Activate SSL

Once DNS propagates, return to the Domains page and click Verify. Goose.re will automatically provision a free SSL certificate via Let's Encrypt, securing all your links with HTTPS.

Step 4: Start Shortening

When creating a new link, select your custom domain from the dropdown. Your branded short link is ready to share!

Custom domains are available on all plans. You can add up to 10 domains per workspace on the Pro plan.
