UTM Builder

Attach campaign parameters to your destination URLs without leaving the dashboard.

What are UTM Parameters?

UTM (Urchin Tracking Module) parameters are short text codes added to URLs that help track the performance of campaigns in tools like Google Analytics. When a user clicks a link with UTM parameters, the tags are sent back to your analytics software to attribute the traffic correctly.

Using the Builder

Instead of manually typing out these parameters and risking typos, use the built-in UTM Builder when creating a new short link.

Source (utm_source) The platform where the traffic originates (e.g., google, newsletter, twitter).
Medium (utm_medium) The marketing medium or type of channel (e.g., cpc, banner, email).
Campaign (utm_campaign) A specific product promotion or strategic campaign (e.g., spring_sale, launch_2026).
Term & Content Optional parameters to identify paid keywords (utm_term) or differentiate identical links in the same ad (utm_content).

Pro Tip: We automatically encode your inputs so spaces and special characters are handled safely without breaking the destination URL.

UTM Passing & Analytics Logging

What happens if you take a clean short link (e.g., goose.re/promo) and manually append UTM parameters to it when sharing it on different networks? (e.g., goose.re/promo?utm_source=facebook).

Parameter Passing

Goose.re automatically passes any UTM parameters attached to the incoming short link directly to the final destination URL. This means you only need to create one short link, and you can dynamically append different UTMs for Twitter, Facebook, or Email without creating duplicate short links.

Analytics Logging

Not only do we forward the UTMs to your destination website, but Goose.re also logs those UTM parameters internally. When viewing your link's Analytics page inside the Goose.re dashboard, you will see a breakdown of traffic by UTM Source, Medium, and Campaign natively.
